F.A.Qs
How do I apply for a plot?
Please complete the contact form and the Site Manager will contact you with further information. Once you are on the list it is vital you update us should your contact information change.
How long will I need to wait?
Demand for plots is high and turnover is low. At the moment the current wait for people joining the list is around two years.
Do I need to live in Gatley or Stockport?
In line with Council policy we are only able to accept applications from Stockport residents, i.e. those with an SK postcode.
Will I be offered a full plot initially?
Experience has shown us that new tenants do not always appreciate the work and time that is required to maintain an allotment so initially new plot-holders will be offered a quarter plot on a one year provisional tenancy basis.
As a member of the public can I access the site shop?
Use of the shop is free to plot-holders. Members of the public can purchase from the shop if they become associate members. There is an annual fee of £1 to become an associate member.
Are children and pets allowed on the site?
We encourage families to enjoy having an allotment together. Parents must ensure that children on site are appropriately supervised. Dogs are allowed on site if kept on a lead.
