Gatley Hill Allotment society (GHAS) Rules 2025
 
The rules will be issued and signed for at the commencement of taking up a plot or in the case of existing plot holders where no signed agreement exists.
The rules can be amended by the agreement of the majority at an AGM or Special/Emergency GM.
  • Membership of the national and local associations is compulsory. The annual fee is payable with the annual rent payment, due by 31st January.
  • A refundable key deposit of £20 is payable by all new tenants. Any lost or extra keys must be obtained by payment of a similar deposit.
  • A copy of equal opportunities, diversity, child protection, social and environmental policies will be available on request and displayed on the notice board.
  • Applications for the erecting of structures, sheds and greenhouses, planting of trees, must be made in writing to the committee.
  • Plot holders must allow inspection of their plot and buildings by members of the committee and a disciplinary procedure may be applied if appropriate.
  • Plot holders are responsible for the maintenance of paths and or fences around and between their plots.
  • Plot holders must not obstruct main paths.
  • Plot holders must remove all broken glass and non-compostable materials from the site.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and must not cause a nuisance to others. Excrement should be removed from the site by the owner.
  • Children are the responsibility of the parents/carers and as such should not be allowed to cause a nuisance to others.
  • Complaints should be made in writing to any member of the committee.
  • Access to the site via the main gate only, unless by committee consent.
  • The keeping of livestock is not permitted on the site.
  • A copy of the committee duties and responsibilities is available on request.
